A large detached new-build home

Our team helped to deliver the scheme through technical design and construction, working in collaboration with another architect. We were also appointed to assist with the development of the design of a number of the key internal spaces.

The project is for a large 2.5-storey dwelling, situated in a beautiful leafy part of the town of Harpenden. An open atrium space acts as the entrance hall and stairwell of the property, with games rooms and living spaces accessed directly off of this. The key living spaces are also placed in an open-plan ground floor, with a generous kitchen/ diner/ snug space positioned to overlook and engage with a newly landscape garden (with terrace and swimming pool).

At first floor, the master suite (with integrated dressing area) is positioned overlooking the rear garden. Three more bedrooms are then located around the open stairwell. A large guest suite is then located in the attic space.

The building has been designed to far exceed building regulations compliance for thermal efficiency, acoustic performance and air tightness.
